Today we participated in the Panhellenic volunteer action of Let’s Do it Greece, which activated in total 1468 actions all over Greece. Thousands of volunteers gathered into forests, beaches, rivers, lakes, streams, seas, neighborhoods, schools, parks, cleaning and embellishing our sites. All the same day and same time in every corner of our country!

We participated by cleaning-up the pineforest and the beach of Schinias, in Marathon Bay, together with the team of WayOut Adventures and OceanmanGreece. With 50 volunteers, including children, we collected 1.5 thousand ltrs of waste and 1.0 thousand ltrs of recycling items. The majority of the collected items were bottles of water, beers, vodka, soft drinks, coffee cups, lot’s of plastic toys, clothes, straws and plastic bags. We found items of 20-25 years old age. Unfortunately, we found also a dead turtle inside the pineforest, not in the beach….

Human environmental footprint was visible in every corner of this magnificent pineforest. However, in 3,5 hours we cleaned up an important amount of waste with our volunteers, proving that together we can achieve more and we can change the world.
